Let me start this little page off by stating that I, as an individual, don't reallly belong in an artist's community - at least, an artist community where people consider art to be drawing, painting, sketching - the visual medium. I'm not that kind of artist. I'm hard pressed to draw anything more detailed than a stick figure. My painting skills are rather mediocre. My abilities with such mainstays of the graphical world such as Photoshop (and to oldies like me, Bryce) are limited to rather fun tinkering and fooling around.

Nevertheless, I do consider myself to be an artist. My title here is a pretty major clue - I call myself, both jokingly and occasionally seriously, a Wordsmith. What do I mean by that? Well, for those who can't guess from reading the title, I consider myself to be someone who works in words - effectively a writer, though I personally think Wordsmith sounds a bit more exciting, a bit more interesting - and hopefully, a bit more innovative.

I'm not necessarily a more innovative writer than most you'll meet. I'll admit to being quite mainstream at times, as all who write really are - except some of the more intriguing specimens. I write prose fiction, I dabble with the occasional script, and I write poetry both constructively and creatively. Do I consider myself to be a decent, nay, exceptional writer?

No. Not really

However, I do have sufficient ego to believe that I do have skills as a writer, and enough talent to write works that are interesting, enjoyable, perhaps emotionally uplifting, or even despairing. I try merely to touch my readers a little, just a little, with what I write. And if I do touch my readers with my writing, whether it is positive or negative, or even almost indifferent - then I think I've achieved a little bit of success.

I'll close here for today with a poem I wrote for uni recently - actually, I composed this poem on the back page of an examination paper for biochemistry, then reworked, revisited, and through out a half a dozen drafts before submitting the end (sort of) product for a writing folio. I hope you like it... and please let me know either way. :)

Eternal

Wingtip breaches
walled pavilion,
whispered angel
flight

firework glow
embraces turning world,
touch the moon,
fade

Hello andiyar

Thanks for the comments on my scan.

Hey there, friend. Sorry for not being able to drop by much, and I think I owe you a big one for not fulfilling the promise I made ya last X-mas past... you know, I was not able to go back to the province to retrieve said 'artifacts'. I had to work double-parttime during the break.

And, as you may have already surmised, I have been 'traveling' around mt... but anyway, here I am, and do await something special in your email, to recompense for the promise I wasn't able to make... (sad now) But I still might be able to get them next month! Oh, and how was your book launch, BTW? I hope it turned out well. Bye for now, and I hope you enjoy 'em gifts. ^^

hiya andyar ^_^
thnx for your site =D now I can also play to zanarkand ^^
ow anda..I'll add you to my friends list =D
see you around =)

Konnoichiwa andiyar!

Quote by andiyarkei-kun: out of curiosity, do you have anywhere in particular you obtain sheet music from for anime, or do you do primarily impro? I much prefer playing with sheet myself... any places you can point me to to get some anime sheeet?

Same here, I prefer to play by sheet music, that's obvious. But for anime I don't have much (if any) sheet music at all, thus I mainly improvise.
If you want some sources to anime sheet music there are lots. And they're scattered everywhere.
Ichigo music
Anime Scores
Alphatrance
AnimeChords

That's all I can think of right now, but there are quite a few including those vast FF piano music sites that you know about.
I generally use none of the above, mainly because they don't have any sheet music that I want. However, I do sometimes (very rarely) use AnimeChords, which gives you a listing of the music in simple chords whereby you improvise or acquire the melody by yourself.

In AnimeScores you can request sheet music and request music transcriptions, which I've done several times. For AnimeChords you can request music to chord transcriptions which I've done a few times.
I know the admins from AnimeScores and AnimeChords, so if you want anything transcribed just send the request to me and I'll patch it through (otherwise you'll need registration for the forum in AnimeScores).

And by the way, please do join Piano-suki. :)

And so a master of wits and words has entered the realms of the visual, forging the letters and phrases as only a Wordsmith could do. ;)

Don't get your hopes up, My use of words easily match your stick figures.

"Eternal." It's a little Haiku'ish imho ... is that your usual style ?

Happy holiday . Please add me to ur friendslist or can u be on my friiendslist .

Hello again! thanks for adding me to your friends list, andiyar-friend! You can always drop a line (or two or three) in my guestbook for any query or anything you have in mind... oh, and if you're kinda inquiring about my own prose/poetry, well... I have to go back to my hometown (a couple of hours away, via a public bus, on rough roads, no thanks to the Third World-ist status of my country ^_^) and retrieve my old college notes, wherein lies a little ageing crap of lines.... (Fairly recently, I have endeared myself to the word "crap" because of some little trouble at work... ^_^) So sorry. I am only starting to flex my writing skills just recently, and I have to thank finding Minitokyo as the spark of my new initiatives!

Anyway, I do plan to go back to my hometown to get those, to share them with you, ne? And gomen for the verbosity of my post, hehe. ^_^

A fair MT day to you, Andiyar! Permit me thus to let loose these bits and bytes of utter nonsense-sense into your guestbook. I spotted your presence in a thread about torn lovers, and I must say that you dare utter such pure words... let my presence here in your guestbook remind you of my simple admiration for thine petite but evocative statements in said thread.

Ok, I am cutting the crap short.... hi Andiyar! and welcome welcome to Minitokyo! I am also on the lookout for non-artists/poets/pseudo-poets (^_^; the last term's about me), and I am very glad to have spotted you. As a start, I will posthaste add you to my ever-expanding friends' list, k? And 'hope to hear from you more in the forums... bye! oh, and may I invite you to my friend, vampyre-friend's delectable gallery of blood-and-loneliness?
http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/68295/ -- for a sample... a little prose to express myself...

I am currently involving myself more and more into MT by volunteering as a caption writer for her artwork... this idea, by the way, is courtesy of my new friend, DernierCri... http://derniercri.minitokyo.net/ ... so, see ya, new friend, and have a grand hell of a time in MT! Do appear like a magician on my guestbook if you ever need anything! (I know, these are crappy lines... bad day at the office... me angry... ['looses all traces of civilization and reverts to Poring state....])

Hi, Andiyar!

Caught your comment in the "Mathematics and Sex" thread, and was pleased to see a fellow wordsmith on board. There are a few people here who write well, express interesting ideas, and are fun to exchange posts with -- I'll let you find them on your own. But welcome to MT, and if you ever have questions, don't hesitate to give me a yell.
